Catchpoint Becomes First in the Industry to Offer Performance Monitoring from the Google Chrome Browser

New York (PRWEB) November 15, 2011

Catchpoint Systems, Inc., a new provider of Web performance monitoring solutions for Internet-dependent businesses, today announced two key product advancements that give customers for the first time the ability to monitor performance from the Google Chrome Browser (v15) and measure the impact and performance of third party content on Web pages and Web applications in the most detailed and sophisticated way available. Catchpoint has also become a member of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solution Providers Program and added 12 new monitoring agents globally.

Catchpoints ability to monitor from Googles Chrome Browser and their advanced performance analytics make them the only company capable of handling the complexity of our performance monitoring demands, said Leo Vasiliou, Information Security Officer at ASK.COM. With Catchpoint we can not only identify when a third party is causing a performance problem but, more importantly, pinpoint the exact vendor and fix the problem quickly. The speed and ingenuity with which theyve adapted their solutions to meet todays performance challenges is unparalleled in the industry.

With the beta release of Catchpoints Google Chrome Browser performance monitoring offering, customers can now monitor and understand performance problems specific to that browser. Google Chrome services more than 20 percent of the global Internet browser market with rapid adoption predicted to continue, and for some of Catchpoints customers, usage is as much as 50 percent, making it a critical piece of the overall performance monitoring picture.

In addition to Chrome browser monitoring capabilities, Catchpoints latest product release gives customers unprecedented insight and tools to quickly identify when a change in the performance of a Web page or Web application is caused by a third party, such as ads and CDNs, and pinpoint which vendor caused the disruption. Features include:

Advanced Metrics and Insight: Industrys most sophisticated metrics and insight to understand performance impact better, including the ability to see advanced statistics for metrics such as median, geometrical mean, 95th percentile, and standard deviation for up to two full years. Customers also have the ability to chart the performance metrics related to a single hostname.

Zone charting: Customers can now chart the performance metrics related to a group of requests and hosts called Zones including ads, widgets, analytics, and CDNs. Catchpoint provides predefined Zones, saving users the time and resources typically spent categorizing third party content on their site. In addition, users can create Zones not only by domain, but also the entire URL or IP address of the servers.

As a new member of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solution Providers Program, Catchpoint has also expanded its network of monitoring agents to all six commercial regions operated by AWS. In addition, Catchpoint is launching nodes in Dallas; Shanghai and Beijing, China; and Bangalore, India.

Catchpoint has also begun a Last Mile pilot that allows customers to measure their performance, availability, and reachability from various homes connected to major U.S. broadband networks.

Packaging Executive Challenges Industry to Heed Lessons From the Legacy of Steve Jobs

Marlton, N.J. (PRWEB) October 26, 2011

Following the passing of Steve Jobs, the president of T.H.E.M. Technical Help in Engineering and Marketing) publicly expressed his belief that the packaging industry can greatly benefit from the many lessons to be learned from his legacy of forward thinking, personal drive and relentless pursuit of perfection.

"When one of the world's most successful game changers passes away, it's worth taking the time to reflect on how his thinking can help all of us." says Neil Kozarsky, long-time president of T.H.E.M. "I believe that what Jobs taught us about vision, persistence, and exceptionalism can and must have a real impact on the future of packaging."

Kozarsky pointed to the daunting fact that Jobs never relied on consumer research to plot the course of personal computing and his mobile communications vision. "Steve Jobs had the ability to put himself in the consumer's shoes, to imagine fulfilling his own wants and needs, and he had the strength of character to make it happen," says Kozarsky. "The consumer experience was more important to him than any other factor. That is exactly how we need to be thinking in the packaging industry."

When you look back at the career of Steve Jobs from a branding point of view, you realize how pivotal a role packaging played in his success as an innovator and marketer. More than anyone else in the consumer electronics industry, Jobs realized the critical potential of packaging. The look he gave his products was consistently clean and fresh, from the early multi-colored MACS to the iPod nanos. Everything had to be sleek, trim and good looking. His packaging was as much a statement of cultural sensibility as it was a means to deliver and differentiate the goods.

"His products had to do more than perform uniquely," says Kozarsky. "They had to look different. Today's marketers have the same opportunity to distinguish their products with every new launch or line extension. It's up to us, in the packaging industry, to give them the tools and the encouragement to keep pushing the creative envelop. We have to remember that before Steve Jobs, computers were no sexier than early fax machines."

There is no disputing the fact that Steve Jobs did more than create exciting products that delighted and delivered on their promise beyond expectations. But he was also one of the most influential packaging innovators of our time.

Jobs also proved to every product manufacturer that it pays to seek perfection. His unwillingness to compromise in any aspect of product development, design and manufacture is legendary. Cost-effectiveness always factored in. It had to. But Jobs was never afraid to ask his customer base to pay a little more for an experience over and above the ordinary.

Introducing the New Face of the Medical Marijuana Industry

San Francisco, California (PRWEB) November 17, 2011

The new face of the medical marijuana industry has made its long awaited debut. DOOBONS.COM made a huge splash at the San Jose HempCon trade show 11/11/11. "We expected to fly slightly under the radar at the San Jose show," said owner and founder John. This, however, proved to be impossible as soon as the doors opened. The organizers of HempCon watched as the DOOBONS booth was literally mobbed with people from the beginning of the show to the end. "We had three computers going at the same time and still had lines to all of them!"

DOOBONS.COM extends to a broader audience of professionals in addition to the medical community and their patients. The founder realized the need for a medical marijuana (MMJ) website with a much wider demographic appeal through his familys efforts to make a close family member more comfortable in his fight with stage 3 lung cancer and a brain tumor. "The road was not easy," said John, "We tried to navigate this industry with a recommendation from a Kaiser oncologist stating our loved one's condition and an authorization for him to use MMJ if he so chose. John states, "Even with this letter from the oncologist on Kaiser letterhead we hit road block after road block." This was the conception of DOOBONS.COM.

The DOOBONS team wants to provide a professional website for those who are not familiar with this industry, are house bound due to illness or are caregivers for these patients, in addition to the entire MMJ community. Up to this point, the websites that have been available have an abundance of information but are challenging to navigate. DOOBONS believes the medical community needs to see a much simpler format and user-friendly interface. The company has successfully delivered a product that allows its target audience to feel confident with the site they are using and free of any concern of the taboos associated with the MMJ industry. DOOBONS goal is to represent the uplifting professional side of this industry and to remove the taboo forever.

DOOBONS has teamed up with doctors and registered nurses to provide more information to this new emerging audience. The site has a multitude of perks from a coupon system that delivers visitors daily deals in specific areas (no fee) to blog opportunities, geo-targeting, GPS tracking, a locator, and extremely low pricing for advertisers. In addition, the iphone app is soon to launch.

To read about the remarkable story of the family member that spawned this company, visit the DOOBONS blog.

The future of the MMJ industry is here! Meet the owners at the Anaheim Kush Expo trade show this weekend!

"It was such a pleasure to meet both of you at HempCon on Friday. I feel very moved by your cause and, as a MMJ patient battling Chronic Lyme disease, I truly believe there is a dire need for your website in this community. Your personal blog about your father is a story of triumph, and the fact that your family is giving back to cancer research while your father still faces his own battles is so admirable." ~Alexis

The MMJ industry has been in dire need of a new fresh face with an uplifting format. The founder is dynamic and passionate about his work in this industry. Don't miss a chance to meet John. He is one of a kind!

American Water Summit Gears Up to Tackle the USA's Water Industry Crisis

Oxford, UK (PRWEB) October 17, 2011

Hosted by American Water Intelligence (AWI) & Global Water Intelligence (GWI)*, the Summit will gather water leaders and technology experts from both public and private sectors to brainstorm creative ideas to tackle the major water difficulties now facing America. It will be held on 9/10th November, 2011 at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

The agenda for AWI/GWI's conference, entitled 'Compelling needs, creative solutions', is responding to the continuing drought conditions across the USA, where in the south they have now become the worst in recorded history. And as the financial cut-backs in the US continue, the summit's agenda sharpens its focus.

"Since we started planning our American Water Summit for Atlanta," says Emma Welsh, GWI's Sales & Marketing Director, "the 'compelling needs' of the events title have assumed a nightmarish significance.

We have added two new sessions - 'Surviving Financial Meltdown' and 'Inland Desalination and Scarcity Solutions' - to cover these issues. Expert understanding is key, and we want our attendees to rediscover the sense of security and confidence that comes from a full knowledge of the facts. We want to help them formulate a strategy, and this is where the 'creative solutions' come in from the new technologies in our Water Investment Idol session and the new financing solutions in 'Breaking the Mold on Infrastructure Finance.'"

The Summit's Keynote sessions are:
